Radical Generosity
Radical generosity puts us in connection with one another, overcoming myths of separation and scarcity.
Redesigning the world so it works better for everyone.

“As you enter positions of trust and power, dream a little before you think.”
― Toni Morrison
“I have yet to see any problem, however complicated, which, when looked at in the right way, did not become still more complicated.”
— Poul Anderson
We live in a paradox: the challenges we face as a species grow ever more complex and daunting AND we have everything we need to respond to them in creating a just, equitable, and beautiful world.
SheEO exists as a grand experiment at the center of that paradox. How do we organize to meet the complex challenges of our time, in relationship with ourselves, each other, and the planet so that we can unleash our latent resources, capital, and creativity to meet those challenges?
SheEO is a platform for this kind of radical experimentation — of bold vision and practical action as we learn together how to live in an ever-evolving, emerging world of possibility where we all contribute to the making of a new world.
This document is intended to put language to some of our core values and philosophy at SheEO to give the community insight into why we do what we do.
Language plays an important role in shaping our perception of reality. We are constantly working to refine the language we use to express our core values. The essence of these values does not change, but our understanding of them continues to deepen and become more enriched in relationship with each other, over time. We will continue to evolve our language to keep pace with this ongoing learning.
We begin with our credo — our statement of intention for the world we want to create together, and our most closely held affirmations.
This is followed by a series of short essays, which are meant to give an overview of our core values. We have laid out ten essays below, each with quotes in the spirit of that value and a question for self reflection. We encourage you to sit with, journal about, or take action on the reflection questions as you feel led. Additional resources and readings are also listed below each core value for further learning and discovery.
These values are not in any order of importance, as they all reinforce one another. Also, short essays can never do justice to the complex and iterative concepts we outline below — these are really just a starting place.
Any professed value must be embodied and experienced to be true. This document articulates our values for cognitive learning, but we also need to live the values together for them to be more than just words on a page. We encourage you to find ways of engaging on your own terms. You can become an Activator here. You can become a SheEO Venture here.
We are indebted to the inherited wisdom of many centuries of dreamers, thinkers, land and cultural stewards, and builders who have shown us what it means to envision a more beautiful future. Our ideas and values have been shaped by a myriad of small and large influences, some listed here, and many who are not. We owe our debt of gratitude to the trailblazers and visionaries who have shown us the way. We also realize our own biases in which resources and people we are aware of and have highlighted — we welcome additions, feedback, and corrections where we have failed to represent the diversity of leadership that has preceded us.
At SheEO we practice Radical Generosity which we believe is core to creating a new model and a better world.
We have all that we need in this network to reach our potential.
If you need something, ask.
If you have something to give, please offer it.
We are all at different stages and ages and we come from different experiences.
We are here with our sleeves rolled up, ready to help one another.
This is a co-created environment built on trust.
We are creating a space for women and non-binary folks to thrive on their own terms.
We take our time, and we consider the future.
We celebrate and embolden each other.
We amplify each other’s voices.
We own our greatness.
Are you IN?
Radical generosity puts us in connection with one another, overcoming myths of separation and scarcity.
You do not need to be a trained expert to understand systems — every family, forest, and even your own body is a complex adaptive system, continually evolving in a non-linear way and responding to its environment through adaptation.
We’ve been conditioned to seek scale, speed, and quick fixes to complex problems, but at SheEO we assert that everything is relationships.
Eight men now have the same wealth as half the planet; 3.5 billion people. This is a great injustice for many reasons, not least of which is that this keeps capital sequestered away from many more productive uses.
We live in a world focused on control and top-down decision-making.
We tend to think that the economic system is not working. But it is often working exactly as designed and intended — to aggregate resources and power in the hands of a few.
By now, most of us know the horrendous stats for women and venture funding.
We are used to being told what to do, what to think, and how to work. The mechanistic worldview of the industrial revolution saw workers as cogs in a giant machine, specialized in one particular area to maximize efficiency.
When the market crashed in 2008, we found $17 trillion in three weeks to bail out the banks. That’s equivalent to 600 years on the planet without hunger.
There are infinite ways to creatively build this community and this movement together.
